16. Combination (3) BBQ Meats on Rice - A Mountain of Meat!

Just finished my first day at my new job (it's pretty physical) and haven't eaten since 5:30am. It is now lateish lunchtime and the place is packed. I get the little table by the door. The cool breeze is just delightful. I am ravenous and I am up to number 16 (see note). I order the largest and one of the most expensive items from the menu. Oh and it just happens to be the next in sequence - how serendipitous. For my choice of three I choose soya chicken (a favourite), duck (new to me) and pork ribs as they were so tasty last time. The other choices were BBQ pork and crispy roast pork I think.

My meal arrives and I am greeted with meat. And meat. And more meat. Hmmmm, what to tackle first? Do I attack each variety all in one go or mix and match? Bok choy first of course: tender goodness with just a hint of crunch. My curiosity is piqued and I sample the duck. I never was the greatest fan of duck, until culinary school and KC changed that! Juicy, gamey, exquisite. I think I may even like it better than soya chicken and that is saying something! The rice underneath is fragrant, aromatic, perfectly soaking up the delicious juices. Onto the ribs next. They are a little on the dry side today but still tasty. Damn I wish I had more duck though. My fingers are syrupy and sticky. A finger bowl, though a shade fine-dining would sure be handy... Soya chicken time. While still delightful, it has been usurped in my estimation by that dastardly delicious duck. As usual it is moist and roasted to perfection. I struggle to eat the rice underneath, soy-soused and savoury. My stomach is crying "no no no!" but my tastebuds are crying "more more more!" They will have to roll me out of here...

Bountiful bones pile up on my plate and I concede defeat with a few morsels of rice remaining, I'm seriously impressed with my stomach capacity today! I may need to sleep it off for a few days in a serpentine stupor. Next up: yet more BBQ!

(Note: I skipped Number 15 as it was the same as Number 16, just missing a meat. Please do not fault me, I am a creature of limited means, time and stomach capacity!)
